The recently released Mason Dixon poll shows McCaskill’s lead on Todd Akin has all but evaporated despite weeks of pushing various rape narratives. The updated RCP average reflects this:
Democrats were quick to try to downplay the poll on Twitter post-release. Oddly enough, the party had no problem touting a highly suspicious insider DSCC poll unaccompanied by any demo which insisted McCaskill had a double-digit lead over Akin.
As I noted on Friday, the Mason Dixon poll shows independents as a sizable enough group to decide the race and with Romney +11, the seat may yet be flipped.
